Westfield, Indiana, at one point, simply was a sleepy Indianapolis suburb. However, that changed with the launch of Grand Park Sports Campus in 2014, a 400-acre “sports village” that features adult and youth recreational centers for use all year ‘round.
In the years since Grand Park opened, the place has expanded and become an excellent area for people and families to visit. Below we list many places to check out and thrilling things to do in Westfield.
Grand Park is Westfield’s highlight. It’s possible to be involved in concerts and festivals or cheer on college club, as well as varsity teams outside at the sports campus, featuring 26 softball and baseball diamonds and 31 multi-purpose fields for football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and rugby. The inside center features courts for futsal, volleyball, and basketball. It also is the official home of the training camp of the Indianapolis Colts and provides fans the opportunity to engage with a few of their favorite pro athletes. As you need a change of scenery from being a spectator, it’s possible to also take a stroll along the over ten miles of trails.
You should expect no shortage of delectable restaurants inside Westfield. There is something for almost every taste alongside “Restaurant Row” on Park St., directly south of downtown. It’s possible to enjoy farm-to-table creations at the Rail Epicurean Market, pasta at Italian House on Park, and sushi at Chiba Indianapolis. Do not be concerned with attempting to locate a parking place on the weekend either. Simply take a shuttle at a parking lot nearby, and you may be dropped off at your choice of restaurant.
Get on A Bike
The Monon Trail is the ideal area to take a bike and ride alongside the 18-mile journey to downtown Indianapolis. If you did not bring your bike, don’t worry. You may rent one for about $3 per hour at a bike-sharing station nearby. Or just skip the wheels altogether and simply walk, as the path also leads visitors to nearby stores and additional attractions.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love Cool Creek Park. The gorgeous green space has several activities no matter what time it is that you visit. Its wooded trails span 4 miles of nature and wildlife. Bring a cooler that is full of drinks and food and have a picnic at the shelters. You can play on the playground, soccer and softball fields or the basketball courts. You can go in-line skating alongside the paved road that loops through the park.
If you’re in the area you may see the hard working folks at Kings Cleaning Solutions frequenting the areas restaurants in between serving the residents and business owners with carpet cleaning, air duct cleaning, and tile & grout cleaning.
